Send Flowers Plant A Tree
With deep sadness we share the passing of Mary Dawson, at the age of 80, in Richmond, KY. Born in Long Beach, CA to the late Leo & Grace Israelson, Mary lived a life marked by service, creativity, and adventure in Santa Rosa, CA.

Mary proudly served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era, embodying the values of honor, courage, and commitment. Her "hard charger" spirit inspired all who knew her.

Following a dedicated 40-year career with the USPS, Mary embraced retirement by traveling, attending theatre performances, watching the Buffalo Bills, Warriors, and SF Giants games, playing bunco, mahjong, and crafting. Her love for animals was evident in the care she gave to her pets and her support for animal welfare.

Mary's brothers, Joe Israelson (USMC) and Jim Israelson (USAF), preceded her in death. Mary will be dearly missed by her sister Joyce Hubbard, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews as well as her cherished friends Jodie Walls, Allan Hoff, Ayano Kuwabara and Linda Holzworth.

In lieu of flowers, our family requests donations be made in Mary Dawson’s honor to https://humanesocietysoco.org/ or https://thefund.org/, causes close to Mary’s heart.

A private memorial will be held in Mayville, NY this summer.
