Mary Galloway Helmick

Mary Galloway Helmick, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, has gone home to be with our Lord Savior on March 8, 2026. Born on February 1, 1941, in Richmond, Virginia. Mary was a graduate of John Marshall High School Class of 1959 where she met the love of her life, Ira Helmick, Sr. Together, they built a remarkable life centered around family.

Mary was a member of Ridge Baptist Church. She was a well-loved Retail Sales Associate at Sears for many years. However, her true passion was her family. Mary raised her children with unwavering love and support. Family vacations were a cherished tradition from camping trips to exploring destinations like Hawaii, Alaska and various other spots across the United States.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lois Galloway, her brother Frank and sister Shirley.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Ira Helmick, Sr., her loving children, Ira Helmick, Jr. (Chris), Carrie Robinson (Robbie) and Leslie Costell (Jimmy); grandchildren, Bradley Helmick (Katherine) and Matthew Robinson (Abbey); step grandchildren, Samantha, Matthew, Sarah and their families; three great grandchildren with a fourth one on the way and her brother, Johnny Galloway. Mary's legacy continues through her family, who will forever cherish the moments and memories they created together.
