Mary Hutchinson

Mary Evelyn (Sprague) Hutchinson passed away on February 15, 2026 surrounded by friends and family. Mary was born on March 11,1947 in Chico, California and graduated from Chico State with a B.A. in Social Sciences. After graduation, Mary taught 5th grade in San Juan Bautista and lived in nearby Hollister, where she met and later married Lawrence Hutchinson. They moved to San Jose where she became a full-time wife and mother of their two sons, Patrick and David. Lawrence passed away unexpectedly in March of 1995 leading to Mary relocating to the Sacramento area in 1998 where she became a devoted member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church, serving with the Daughters of the King. Mary is survived by her brother, Roy Sprague and two sons, Patrick and David, who are a testament to her ability as a mother, and three remarkable grandchildren, Andrew, Ainsley and Amelia. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
