Mary C. Lee

1951 - 2025

Mary Cathrine Lee passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of October 28, 2025, surrounded by love.

Mary was born on November 8, 1951, to Traviss and Gertrude McIntosh. She grew up in Suffern, New York, surrounded by the love of her parents, brothers, and sisters. She graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh and went on to a long and successful career at the United States Patent Office.

Though her educational and professional successes were many, Mary's greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family. She was the kind of mom who showed up, who was steady, patient, and full of love. She was always there with words of comfort, gentle advice, or one of her warm hugs that made everything better. And while she was a truly wonderful mother, she absolutely shined as a Nana. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved hearing about their days, celebrating their milestones, and spoiling them in all the best ways. Being "Nana" was one of her greatest blessings.

Later in life, Mary was as active as ever. She was an avid crafter and became known for her "homemade and heartfelt" gifts. She was an active member in her church and took great pride in organizing their craft fair each year. She loved to travel and experience new places and always found joy in the simple, beautiful things in life.

Mary will be remembered in a million little moments. Solving a tough crossword, finishing a good book, sharing a cup of coffee in the morning and a quiet glass of wine at night. A piece of good advice and a shoulder to cry on. A handmade gift from someone you love. Lazy pajama days and late karaoke nights. A weekend away to somewhere new. Word games, brain teasers, and some healthy competition. A helping hand when you need it most. And a particularly good round of golf.

These moments will live on in the people who love her most. Her children, Stacy (Forrest), Deron (Laura), and Mandy. Her grandchildren, Makenna, Kaylie, Ryan, Chase, Matthew, Emilee, and Fisher. Her partner, Ivars. Her brother and sisters, Traviss, Sandy (Tom), Ali (Mike), and Beth (John). And her many nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly. They will carry her memory with them always and hope you will choose to remember her in these moments too, in laughter, in kindness, and in love.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Traviss and Gertrude McIntosh, her brother, Edwin McIntosh, and her nephew Jesse Mulder, who no doubt welcomed her with open arms.

In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made to Samaritan's Purse or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in honor of Mary's kindness and generosity.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
