Mary Lou Lockenvitz (née Weil) was born on January 7th, 1941 in Chicago and was one of four Weil children, all of whom have preceded her in death. Her and her family moved to Arizona and during her upbringing she attended 12 different schools and lived in 7 different houses. During her senior year at Pueblo high school she was voted Homecoming Queen after only having been at the school for two months. It was there that Mary Lou met her husband, Gary Lockenvitz, and they married on May 4th, 1960. Gary passed away in 2010. Mary Lou lived in the house they had bought when they first married for 60 years before moving into an assisted living facility. She was an avid abstract painter who loved nature and all things to do with dogs.
Mary Lou passed away on January 6th, 2026 in Tucson after a long battle with several health conditions. She was a day shy of her 85th birthday. Mary Lou is survived by her three daughters: Gail Jensen (Kenny Jensen), Suz McGill, and Lisa Barrett (David Barrett). She is also survived by her four grandchildren Bobby, Danny, Maddie, and Jack as well as her dog, Pete. We hope that she has a better view of the Catalinas now.
