Mary Michele Reimers, née Reilly, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, at the age of 84. Michele, as she was affectionately known, was born on June 6, 1941, in Port Washington, New York, where she spent her early years surrounded by family, friends, and the coastal beauty she loved so dearly.
Michele was predeceased by her husband, Phillip Mapes Reimers, as well as her parents, John and Mary Reilly, and her two brothers, Kevin and Donald Reilly.
She leaves behind her two daughters, Kerrianne Loughman (David) and Tracy Donahue (Chuck), who were the pride and joy of her life. She was a deeply cherished grandmother to Emily and Jack Loughman, and a loving great-grandmother to Kamden and Kylen, who brought her endless delight. Michele also leaves behind many nephews, a niece, and numerous cousins, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Michele dedicated many years of service to St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, NY, where she worked in the Finance Department. She was respected for her diligence, professionalism, and commitment to supporting the hospital's mission through her work.
After retiring, she embraced a new chapter filled with warmth and adventure—first in Summerville, South Carolina, and later in St. Charles, Illinois, where she made many cherished memories.
Michele will be remembered for her strength, her wit, and her boundless love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured, the friends she touched, and the countless lives she impacted throughout her life.
She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's and Dementia Centre for Research, an organization whose mission held deep meaning to Michele and her loved ones.
A Celebration of Life will take place in the spring, where Michele will be laid to rest close to her parents and brothers. Details will be shared with family and friends at a later time.
