Mary A Streeter

Mary Streeter, age 66, of Ledyard, CT, born on January 28, 1959, in Middletown CT, passed away suddenly on December 1, 2025, in the arms of her devoted husband, Dave Streeter. She left this world surrounded by love, just as she lived her life.

Mary is predeceased by her father Lawerence Lawson Hollingsworth III; her mother Helen Hollingsworth Johnson; her brothers Dennis and Lawerence Hollingsworth. She is survived by her beloved husband, Dave Streeter; her son, Tony Torello, and his wife, Stephanie Honnell; her sister, Elizabeth Hilton; her brother, John Hollingsworth; and many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Mary was a free spirit who found her calm and happiness near the ocean. She loved the beach and the sun - the simple peace of the shoreline. Her family fondly remembers how she could truly be herself with the sound of the waves nearby.

Mary was a creative soul who could turn any moment into something brighter. She loved crafts of all kinds and had a talent for making even the simplest project feel special. Her sense of humor was constant and effortless, often finding something to laugh about even on difficult days. She had a way of making everyone feel seen and loved, and she always made people feel special on their birthdays and around the holidays. If joy could be handcrafted, Mary made it.

No one loved Christmas more than Mary. She embraced the season with a childlike sparkle - the tree, the lights, the music, the decorating, and the traditions. Her excitement made Christmas feel magical for everyone around her, and her family will forever carry her spirit into each holiday season.

Above all else, Mary was devoted to her family. She stood by her husband Dave with unwavering love and support. She cared for her mother, Helen Hollingsworth Johnson, with deep compassion in her later years. She was never too busy for a phone call with her son.

In accordance with Mary's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 24, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Niantic Legion Hall, 16 York Street, Niantic, CT 06357, where family and friends will gather to honor her beautiful spirit.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Connecticut Humane Society in honor of her lifelong love of animals and her special affection for cats.

Tony and Dave invite friends and loved ones to share photos, memories, and stories of Mary. These will be gathered into a special remembrance book for the family to hold close forever.
