Mary Jo Thomson (née Hill), 93, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026, in San Angelo, Texas. Born on May 18, 1932, in Kilgore, Texas, Mary Jo lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to her family, career, and passions.
Mary Jo spent over four decades working at the San Angelo National Bank and its subsequent owners, where she built a respected career through her dedication and professionalism. Following her time in banking, she transitioned into real estate in San Angelo, continuing to contribute to her community with her expertise and commitment.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mary Jo cherished her family above all else. She is survived by her three children: Lin M. Thomson, Walter S. Thomson II, and Terri G. Thomson; three granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter Metcalfe Thomson to whom she was married for 42 years.
Mary Jo found joy in gardening and was an avid fan of watching golf as well as both college and professional football on television, especially the Dallas Cowboys. She also loved traveling to destinations such as South Padre Island and Las Vegas and visiting wherever her children and grandchildren resided. Her adventurous spirit and love for life were evident in the way she embraced these experiences with enthusiasm.
Those who knew Mary Jo will remember her as someone who truly enjoyed life to the fullest alongside friends and family. Her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to share in her journey.
May her legacy of love and joy continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched.
