Mary "Wendy" Travers

Mary "Wendy" (Burke) Travers, 77, passed away on January 27, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, and immigrating to Boston as a child, Wendy spent the majority of her life near Halifax, MA. She was known for her love of hockey and bingo, her sense of humor, and her dedication to caring for others. She was predeceased by her parents, Christina & Ambrose Burke; her husband, Robert J. Travers; her sister, Doreen McEachen; and her sister-in-law, Anne Bleheen. She is survived by her son, Ben Travers (Tricia); daughter, Patricia Caron; grandchildren Erica Caron, Travis Caron (Mikaya Bender), Max Travers, Eric Travers and Robert McGovern; her siblings Elaine Beale (Everett) and Wayne Burke; sister-in-law Lauri Buchanan (Dan); brother-in-law Joseph Travers; nieces Roxanne Croteau, Tanya Wohlgemuth (Steven), Alicia Hutchinson (Patrick), Morgan Wohlgemuth, Jillian Wohlgemuth, nephews Austin Brengle and Leonardo Brengle; and many beloved extended family and friends. The family is grateful for Wendy's caregiver Julie, and the staff at River Valley Home Health & Hospice in Parker, AZ. At the request of the decedent, there is no scheduled visitation at this time.
