Maryan Coupe (Hatfield), born on January 21, 1960, in Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully in her home on November 24, 2025, in Wendell, North Carolina. She was 65 years old.
Maryan was the daughter of the late William and Peggy Hatfield, Chapel Hill, N.C. She was also preceded in death by her sister Julia Hatfield. Her life was one of faith, devotion, and quiet strength—a woman who found joy in her family, her church community, and the simple pleasures of daily life.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Franklin D. Cole III and his wife Corri; Rachael Ann Bowmer; and James M. Cole and his wife Heather. Maryan was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren who brought light to her days. She is also survived by two brothers and one sister.
A devoted member of Cross Point Community Church, Maryan served faithfully as a greeter, welcoming others with warmth and kindness. Her love for the Lord guided every aspect of her life and was evident to all who knew her. Her faith was not only a personal foundation but also a gift she shared generously with others.
Maryan found joy in spending time with her beloved dog Kai, especially during their visits to the dog park—moments that brought peace and companionship. She often referred to herself as a "sister in Christ," a title she held dear and lived out through acts of service and compassion.
Her presence will be deeply missed by those who knew her—family members, friends, fellow worshippers, and all whose lives she touched with grace and sincerity.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her and may her legacy of faith continue to inspire. A Celebration of Life will be held on December 2, 2025, at 01:00 PM at Cross Point Community Church 1001 Steeple Square Ct
