Maryann Otto

1953 - 2026

Maryann Otto,72, passed away peacefully at her home on January 28, 2026.

Born in 1953 in Lower Manhattan, NYC (the “Greatest City In the World”) and raised on Long Island, Maryann was the daughter of John and Rosemary Otto. As the youngest of six children and the only girl, she developed a strength and character that defined her entire life.

Maryann dedicated her professional career to the specialized field of metallized film. Her technical expertise and natural leadership led her to the pinnacle of her industry, serving as the General Manager of ITW Holographic and Metallized Films in Bloomfield, CT. While she earned deep respect for her business acumen and mentorship, Maryann always maintained that her greatest and most meaningful achievement was her relationships with family and friends. Everywhere Maryann went there was sure to be laughter, love, and kindness. Her immediate family and her extended family were her greatest joy.

Her legacy of love and strength lives on through her joyful and devoted spouse of 30 years, Peg. Maryann cherished and held close her love for her children, Jessica Hajdasz (Brian Hajdasz) and Patrick Otto (Nicole Horne) , and she held forever her memory of her daughter, Emily Horne, who predeceased her. Her silliness, joy and wisdom will be deeply missed by her children, their spouses, and her cherished grandchildren, Logan, Olivia, Merek, Aubrey and Ace, who truly were the light of her life.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 9, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Hartford. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am, followed by a memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Maryann’s memory to Gifts of Love in Avon, CT.
