MaryAnn Marie Roerig

Mary passed away peacefully in her Donna, TX home on Easter ("a perfect day to get her wings").
Preceded in death by her parents Lorraine & Howard Valen and siblings Joan Guertin, Jane Zepeda, Grace Huebener, and John Valen. Mary is survived by her husband of 49 years, Mike, son Andy Roerig, daughter Amy Roerig Willett, grandson Ryder, sisters Diane & Linda Valen, life-long friend Buzzy (Theresa Spencer) and many other relatives and friends.
Mary was raised in St. Paul, MN and worked in various aspects of the medical profession in the Twin Cities area. Among other things, she loved hosting the family, Christmas gatherings, was active in the MN Street Rod Association, and the Victoria Palms community events.
After retiring, Mary & Mike purchased a retirement home in Donna, TX where her love for gardening flourished. Meanwhile, walking her little dogs (Pico and Tera) proved an effective way to meet the neighbors. Mary fell in love with South Padre Island and loved taking visitors to the beach, Sea Turtle Inc, and Island Birding Center with stops at favorite eateries. Occasional shopping trips to Mexico helped add art to her home & yard.
Special thanks for tender loving care from staff of MD Andeson Cancer Center, Bristol Hospice and her daughter Amy. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
