Matthew Scott LeRoy, lovingly known as “Matt” and “Matty” to many, was born on November 1, 1990, in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. He spent most of his life in Carroll County, a place that shaped him and held many of his memories. Matt passed away on February 1, 2026, after a long and difficult battle with addiction, a struggle he carried for more than a decade.

Matt was preceded in death by his mother, Belinda Lord, who passed in 2011, and his father, Mike, who passed in 2024.

He leaves behind his two beautiful daughters, Emma Grace LeRoy (16) and Addison Joyce LeRoy (10), who were the greatest loves of his life. They were his pride, his heart, and his reason for trying, even on the hardest days. He is also survived by his brother, Michael LeRoy of Swanzey, New Hampshire; his sister, Jessica Sears of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire; his grandmothers, Rachel Langsten of Tamworth, New Hampshire, and Nancy LeRoy from Goffstown, New Hampshire; his aunts and uncles, Chris LeRoy of Ascutney, Vermont, and Linda Lessard of North Conway, New Hampshire; Patty and Vic Martel from Warwick, Rhode Island as well as Mark LeRoy from Bedford, New Hampshire; with extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Matt will be remembered for his sharp wit and unforgettable sense of humor. He was effortlessly funny, quick with a comment, and could make people laugh without even trying. He was deeply creative and artistically talented, with a unique eye for beauty in unexpected places. He loved collecting bottles, trinkets, and unusual old things—objects with history, character, and stories, much like himself.

Matt was a sensitive soul who felt deeply and lived honestly, even when life was heavy. Though addiction was part of his story, it does not define the man he was. He will be remembered for his creativity, his laughter, his love for his daughters, and the way he saw the world differently than most.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Ossipee, New Hampshire.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to suicide awareness or addiction recovery organizations in New Hampshire in his memory.

Matt will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
