Maureen Montemurro passed from this life into eternity in January 2026. She was born in 1938 to Walter and Lillian in the Chicago area, the oldest of 9 children.
She is survived by her daughter Ann and son-in-law David, her son John, and grandsons John Anthony and Tyler.
Her brothers and sisters are John, Alice (Don), Edward, Ann (Rick), Tom (Nyla), Fran (Larry), Richard (Amy), and Bill. She has many nieces and nephews as well.
Maureen gave of herself through crafting pottery and cross stitching.
She enjoyed playing solitaire and learning whatever new games that her neighbors wanted to play with her.
In her earlier years she volunteered in church with Down syndrome children and also elderly in hospice care. Later she volunteered at the local senior center and the Irving Police Department.
Maureen was a good listener and made many friends. She called everyone "Darling" and was loved by all who knew her.
Maureen decided long ago to donate her body to science and wanted her ashes to be scattered on Lake Michigan. A private memorial will be held at that time.
