Maureen Tate

Maureen Steenburn Tate, 63, of both Catskill, NY and
Fort Myers, FL, passed away peacefully on November
22, 2025.
Born and raised in Catskill, Maureen was known for her
warm, authentic spirit and her ability to make everyone
feel welcomed and loved. Maureen was a foster parent
alongside her husband, advocating for children in
need, and later fulfilled her dream of becoming a
registered nurse at age 53.
A free-spirited soul, Maureen loved crocheting, music
and attending musical concerts with her husband
She is survived by her husband loseph Edward Tate
and her children, Robert (Abby) Tate, Leah Tate
Breanna Tate, Katiemae (Kevin) Olderstein, Cameron
Tate, Corey (Mary) Tate, and Dustin Tate, as well as 12
grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings
Kathleen Beers, Michael (Shelly) Steenburn, and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Maureen was predeceased by her parents Robert
Eugene Steenburn and Joan Marie Miller Steenburn
and siblings the baby Robert Steenburn, Patty
Steenburn, Barbara Peterson, and Brian Steenburn
Maureen will be remembered for her bright energy, her
humor, her generosity, and the comfort she brought to
everyone around her.
A celebration of life gathering will be at a later date in
2026.
