Mauricio Rene Lemus "Speedy" passed away January 23, 2026, in a San Antonio hospital. He was 72.
He is survived by his wife, Delia Cano Lemus of Falfurrias, Texas. One brother, Juan Manuel Lemus (Araceli) of San Antonio, Texas, his stepmother Ofelia Lemus of Concepcion, Texas. Two sisters Gloria Garza (Rene) of Falfurrias, Texas and Rosalinda Ramirez (Juan) of San Antonio, Texas. Two stepbrothers Joe Lemus (Maggie) of Falfurrias and Jesus Lemus.
He is preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Consuelo Lemus.
A Holy Rosary will be held on Wednesday January 28, 2026, at 6 P.M. at the Alaniz Funeral Home in Falfurrias, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday January 29, 2026, at 11 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias, Texas. Burial to follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Omar Pena, Hector Salinas Jr. Jose Lemus, Joe Lemus Jr., Steven R. Cano and Danny Duarte.
