It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Maximo R. Navarro who left us on November 30, 2025 at the age of 85.
Born on March 29, 1940, in Premont, Texas, Max grew up with a strong work ethic and a gentle spirit that guided him through every season of life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence brought warmth and joy to all who knew him.
Max was self-employed and widely recognized for running his bricklaying company, Navarro Bros. In addition to his business, he was a farmer, rancher, and a true jack of all trades. He found happiness in life's simple pleasures, spending time with family, mastering word searches, tending to his garden, cheering on the Houston Astros, and enjoying countless episodes of Gunsmoke. His steady presence, warm smile, and quick wit will be deeply missed. Max's faith, generosity and kindness touched the lives of many.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Esperanza; his son, Max (Liz) Navarro; grandchildren, Victoria and Maximo Jacob; siblings Aida Rodriguez, Anita Rodriguez, Gavino Navarro, and Teresa Florez; his fur babies, Dolly and George; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Max is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Juanita Navarro, and siblings David Navarro, Raul Navarro, Israel Navarro, Jacinto Navarro, Lily Ortiz, Janie Moreno, and Pacifica Navarro.
Honoring Max as pallbearers are Maximo Jacob Navarro, Steven Navarro, Leo Herrera, David Florez, Omar Pena, Randy Bitterly, Lamar Lara and Adan Sanchez.
Honorary pallbearers are Maximo Navarro Jr. and Doctor Jose M. Lozano.
The Holy Rosary will be recited on December 3rd at 6:00 p.m. at Alaniz Funeral Home in Falfurrias, Texas. Funeral services will follow on December 4th at 11:30 a.m. at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Premont, Texas. Burial to follow at Premont Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate Max's remarkable life.
