Our beautiful radiant of sunshine, Melissa Lynette Clark—a daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend—has fallen asleep in death, just as Jesus described at John 11:11-14. Though our hearts ache with her absence, we hold firmly to the hope that we will see her again in the promised paradise, for Jehovah God assures us of a resurrection at Acts 24:15 and a future where "pain and sorrow will be no more" (Revelation 21:3,4).
From the time she could speak, Melissa embraced her faith with joy. She loved sharing the good news with everyone she met, always accompanied by her unforgettable smile and laughter. Her warmth touched countless people—doctors, nurses, Uber drivers, and anyone blessed to cross her path instantly recognized her by that joyful spirit.
Melissa was born on May 5, 1975, in Newark, New Jersey, and made San Diego, California her home for the past 29 years. She is survived by her loving mother, Nellie M. Clark (née Gavin); her devoted sister, Elizabeth Clark; and a host of aunts, uncles, and many cousins who cherished her deeply. She was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie R. Clark, in 2018.
Melissa passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 14, 2026.
Her light, her laughter, and her faith will remain with us until the day we welcome her back in Jehovah's promised new world.
Her memorial service will take place on April 5, 2026 , 1:00pm @ Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 4243 Ingraham Street, San Diego, California 92109
