Mercer Edwin Curtis Jr.

Mercer Edwin Curtis Jr., 90, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on November 3, 2025.

Born in Marlboro, Massachusetts, to Marion and Mercer E. Curtis, Mercer became a pioneer in the semiconductor industry. Over the course of his distinguished career, he led manufacturing facilities for Fairchild, MMI, and AMD in Farmington, New Mexico; Jakarta, Indonesia; and Penang, Malaysia. He was admired for his steady leadership, his deep commitment to empowering his teams, and his advocacy for expanding opportunities for women in the workforce.

Guided by his faith in God, Mercer devoted many years to service, support, and fellowship within Alcoholics Anonymous chapters throughout Arizona. His generosity, humility, and encouragement touched countless lives. He also found joy on the golf course and rarely missed the chance to watch a good football game.

Mercer is survived by his wife, Lisa; his children, Mercer III, Katherine, Susan, Stephen, Annie, Mounah, and Jeffry; and 13 grandchildren. He will be remembered with enduring love and gratitude by family, friends, and colleagues around the world.
