Michael Ray Beck, aged 79, passed away on January 28, 2026, in Modesto, California. Born on September 26, 1946, Michael was a lifelong resident of the area and a notable figure in the local agricultural community.
After graduating from Hughson High School, Michael embarked on a career in farming in 1965, demonstrating a profound commitment and passion for agriculture. He was not only successful in cultivating walnuts but also made significant strides in raising pheasants. His business acumen was well recognized among his peers and throughout the community.
Michael's involvement in the Young Farmers organization, alongside his wife Janice, showcased his dedication to fostering agricultural practices and supporting upcoming farmers. His contributions to the community were invaluable, and his presence will be sorely missed.
Michael's personal life was enriched by his deep love for his wife, Janice Beck, to whom he was married for 61 years. He was a devoted father to Gina Ruthman and her husband Brian, and Gregg Beck and his wife Allene. Michael took great joy in his role as a grandfather to Mackenzie, Garrett, Spencer, Madelyn, Chandler, Audra, Juliana, and Landon.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on February 21, 2026, at the Hughson Community Center, located at 2307 4th Street, Hughson, CA 95326. The family invites all who knew Michael to join in celebrating his remarkable life and legacy.
