Michael Alexander Borodawka, lovingly known as "Bo," passed away on March 3, 2026, in Port Charlotte, Florida, at the age of 69. Born on January 20, 1957, in Lowell, Massachusetts, Bo lived a life filled with creativity, adventure, and deep connections with those around him.
A proud graduate of Lowell High School, Bo discovered his passion for painting early on and made it his life's work. A painter to his core, he was renowned for his incredible talent and dedication to his craft. Even after retiring, Bo continued to share his artistry with the community by painting at least a dozen houses around Port Charlotte. His work left an indelible mark not only on the homes he transformed but also on the hearts of those who knew him.
Bo was a man of many passions. Known affectionately as the "Portuguese Fisherman," he was always ready for a fishing trip and had an uncanny ability to catch every kind of fish imaginable. Each catch came with its own story—vivid tales that reflected his love for the sea and his adventurous spirit. Beyond fishing, Bo enjoyed collecting stereos and humorous little knick-knacks that brought joy to those who visited him.
Family was at the heart of Bo's life. He is survived by his son Michael Borodawka; two brothers, Carl and Steven; and his sister Stephanie. He now joins in eternal rest his parents, Virginia (Rocha) Borodawka and Alexander Borodawka; as well as his sisters Valerie (Borodawka) Sarault and Karen Borodawka.
Bo’s warmth extended beyond family to friends from all walks of life—painting buddies, fishing companions, neighbors—and even a few house pets and local birds who found comfort in his presence. He cherished time spent with loved ones and appreciated the simple joys of life. Those who knew him will remember him as a beautiful soul whose kindness and humor brightened their days.
Bo’s legacy lives on through the memories he created with family and friends and through his millions of Bobo Jokes he could pull out of thin air whenever appropriate, well most of the time... He navigated this world with an appreciation for the unique and odd things in life. Great rock music could always be heard within earshot of Mr. Bo. May these memories bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
