Mike was found unresponsive on December 24, 2025 in a tunnel near Highway 36 and Baseline Road in Boulder Colorado. He was 48 years old. Mike lived his life his own way. He had some great times and many troubled times. Mike suffered from Bi Polar, Schizophrenia and Paranoia. I'm thankful for the first half of Mikes life before these disorders claimed him and changed his identity forever. Mike played football and baseball growing up. He shared strong bonds with his Teammates. He had the opportunity to play both in Colorado and also in New York while living with his Father. Mike was a good student, very smart, good grades. Mike had cousins he grew up with from his Mothers family in Colorado. There were many family gatherings with his cousins close to his age, holidays and birthdays and the boys all bonded as cousins do growing up together. Mike was the first Grandchild in his Fathers family and they all loved Mike so very much. Mikes Dad was a helicopter pilot in the Army and was able to teach Mike how to fly a helicopter after he retired from his service. Mike had actually received his Jr pilot's license. Mike went on many vacations across the US with his Father and paternal Grandparents. Mike had girlfriends along his journey but never married or had children. As he grew older, so did the demons from his disorders. Mike self medicated with drugs and alcohol. He was seen more times than can be counted by medical professionals in many states attempting to treat him but to no avail. Disorders like Mike was diagnosed with have no commonality in treatment and often Mike had adverse reactions to medications. The law is very clear on individual's rights to freely receive or decline medical treatment. Mike's choice to decline such treatment was his own. He felt it didn't make him feel "right/normal". The consequences of his choices ultimately cause him great pain and suffering through the final years of his life. If anything can come from Mike's story, let it be that his heart never changed. He loved his Mother, Father, Sister's Brothers, Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Mike had a good friend Chris that his Father and I were able to spend some time with after we were told of Mike's passing. We were able to hear stories of Mike's time in that tunnel in Boulder. Mike loved God and I know he wasn't alone when he passed.
