Michael Cheshareck

Michael Cheshareck, 77, of Morris, Illinois, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, at Morris Hospital.

Michael was born on June 21, 1948, in Morris, Illinois, to Anthony Edward, Sr. and Mary (Karpowicz) Cheshareck. A lifelong resident of Morris, he cherished the friendships he built throughout his years. He began his working career with Illinois Bell as an operator, and after that position was eliminated, he continued his service to the community while working at the Super Pantry until his retirement.

Michael resided at Elliot Manor for many years before moving to Serenity Estates in March of 2025.

He was known for his competitive spirit, especially when it came to playing cards. Poker and euchre were among his favorite games, and he took great pride in his skill at the table. Michael also loved riding his Schwinn Cruiser Four bicycle and could often be seen pedaling around town.

A talented cook and baker, Michael delighted in sharing his creations with friends, particularly during potluck dinners at Elliot Manor, where his contributions were always appreciated and enjoyed.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Anthony Cheshareck Jr., Delores Smith, Robert (Betty) Cheshareck, Thomas (Francis) Cheshareck, Joseph Cheshareck, and John (Theresa) Cheshareck.

He is survived by his sisters-in-law, Betty Cheshareck, Karen Cheshareck, brother-in-law Vern Smith, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
A private family celebration of life and burial will be held at a later date.

Memorials in Michael's name may be made to the Fr. Karpowicz Library at Immaculate Conception School in Morris, honoring both his family legacy and his connection to the community.

Michael will be remembered for his warmth, his love of good company, and the quiet but meaningful impact he made on those around him.
