Michael Henry Eeuwes

Michael Henry Eeuwes, 68, passed away suddenly on November 27, 2025, in New Westminster, BC.

Michael was born in Bowmanville, Ontario, to Wilhelmina and Henry Eeuwes. From an early age, he developed a strong work ethic and a love for the outdoors—qualities that would accompany him throughout his life.

Michael built an impressive 45-year career as a powerline technician, working across Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia. His dedication, skill, and quiet professionalism earned him the respect of his colleagues and the gratitude of communities who relied on the essential work he performed.

Outside of his career, Michael found joy in simple and meaningful pursuits. He was an avid fisherman, a passionate mountain biker, and a talented wood carver. These hobbies reflected the deep connection he felt to nature and his appreciation for craftsmanship and adventure.

Michael is survived by his children, Jason (Danielle) and Jolene; his cherished grandchildren, Ellie, Milena, Linken, and Maddy; and his siblings, Frank (Arlene), Paul (Leah), Gary (Joanne), Yolanda (Wayne). He will be remembered for his steady presence, warm heart, and the pride he took in his family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greater Victoria Down Syndrome Society (gvdss.org), an organization meaningful to the family.

Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday December 20, 2025 at 11am at St Francis of Assissi Church located at 214 King Ave East Newcastle.
