Michael was the son of Peter and Grace Gerbino, who predeceased him. He grew up in Brooklyn and carried with him a vibrant personality that left a lasting mark on everyone he encountered. A proud veteran, Michael served as a medic in Korea with the United States Air Force and later received an honorary discharge from the Navy. His dedication to service reflected his deep sense of duty and care for others.
Known for his quick wit and boundless humor, Michael was truly the life of every gathering. Whether he was telling jokes—ranging from clean quips to those best left unrepeated—or reciting his self-written hysterical poems at family holiday parties, he had an unmatched ability to bring smiles and laughter to those around him. Michael is survived by his brother Joseph Gerbino of North Hampton, New Hampshire; his sister Isabella Kula of Chester, New York; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will deeply miss their beloved "Uncle Mikey."
