Michael Jon Heitkamp

Michael (Mike) Jon Heitkamp, 36 of Bloomington, MN passed away unexpectedly on April 17th, 2026. He is preceded in death by his father, Matthew (Matt) Heitkamp.

Mike was born in Fridley, MN to Matthew Heitkamp and Pauline Larson on July 26th, 1989. His siblings are Aaron (1992) and Sally (2007) Heitkamp. Both of his parents remarried; his mom to Scott (Larson) and his dad to Sandy (Heitkamp).

Mike was very passionate about music, especially lyrics. He also enjoyed fishing, fixing cars and playing video games. Mike grew up closely with his brother, Aaron. It was the two of them until his sister Sally joined the family when he was 18.

In 2024, Mike was blessed with a daughter, Sawyer (Miller). His love for her knows no bounds; he fought for her every day. He never stopped thinking and talking about her. She was the light of his life and he was doing everything in his power to show her that.

Mike battled his own demons and was no stranger to the struggles of life.

Even while having those battles, whenever his friends and family needed him, he was there. He had a huge heart and cared deeply for everybody he loved.

Mike will be missed every day.
