Michael, born December 10 1943 to John and Margaret Lutsic
in Johnson City New York attended Johnson City High School and Cortland State College where he was a member of the gymnastic team.
He began his career as a teacher in Syracuse New York where he met
the love of his life Barbara J Hampson.
Barb and Mike were married there in November 26,1966. Both were teaching school. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to the Washington DC area and lived in Alexandria Virginia where they remained until 2017. Barbara taught pre school at the Pentagon while Mike served in the army at the Pentagon.
Barbara, was born in Milford, Connecticut on February 8, 1939, and spent several years there as a child. When she was 12 her parents, Kenneth and Dorothy Hampson moved with their children to Amsterdam NY. Barbara attended Guy Park Elementary School, Theodore Roosevelt Jr High and graduated from Wilbur H Lynch High School with the class of '56. It was during that time that Barb fell in love with a horse, became a "horse mom" and started riding horseback through the woods and country side. Barb attended the University of Bridgeport and graduated on June 5th,1960 with an associate of Arts degree.
They were bridge players and also greatly enjoyed going to cafes in in the DC area to hear music by Stewart Harris, a brilliant county music songwriter. Although they did not have biological children, Barbara and Mike raised two nephews, Thomas and Peter Lutsic as their own.
Michael is survived by brothers James, John, Richard all of Johnson City, Predeceased by parents John and Margaret and brother David. Creative, intelligent and fun loving, Mike will be missed by all who loved him.
Barbara is survived by Thomas Lutsic, Peter Lutsic, her brother Richard Hampson, her niece Corinne Hampson Holloway. She is predeceased by her parents and adopted brother Ray.
Barbara was a kind, gentle soul. She is already missed.
