Michael P. Kane, known to friends and family as "Mick," age 70, of West Springfield, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born to the late Michael and Mabel Kane, Mick lived a life grounded in loyalty, compassion, and a deep devotion to the people he loved. Family was the heart of everything he did, and he was happiest when surrounded by those closest to him.
A dedicated father, Mick leaves behind his son, Michael Kane, and daughter in law, Brittney, who brought him immense pride and joy. He was a loving and deeply involved grandfather to Ryan, Bradley, and Emily, each of whom held a very special place in his heart. Mick cherished every moment spent with them—whether playing, visiting, or simply watching them grow.

One of Mick's greatest joys in life was cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. He could often be found on the sidelines, offering support, encouragement, and the kind of enthusiastic presence that made every game feel a little more special. Supporting them, watching them play, and celebrating their accomplishments brought him endless happiness.

Mick is also survived by his siblings—Dennis Kane (Laura), Buddy Kane, and MaryEllen Kane—with whom he shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and family traditions. He also leaves behind his nieces, nephews, and his best friend, John Rushby, who stood by his side during his final months, offering unwavering support and strength.

Mick will be remembered for his steadfast loyalty, his big heart, and the deep, quiet love he showed for his family. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him. A funeral mass to honor Mick's life will be held at St. Thomas Church in West Springfield on Saturday March 28th at 10:30 am followed by a celebration of life at Take Five in Agawam. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate his life.

In honor of Mick's memory, donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund. Contributions given in his name will continue the spirit of kindness and support that defined his life.
