Michael Orr Kingston

Michael Orr Kingston, 82, died at home with his family in Boise, Idaho on January 31, 2026 due to metastatic bladder cancer.

Mike was born on April 3, 1943 in Buffalo, New York to Harry Kingston and Louise (Hoefler) Kingston. He grew up in Hamburg, New York and graduated from Hamburg High School in 1961.

After high school, Mike joined the US Air Force and served until honorably discharged in 1965. He went on to Columbia Junior College where he received an Associate of Arts degree 1974.

He married Lisa Tryggestad in 1992 in Redding, California, and they were married for 33 years. Their daughter, Caitlyn, was born in 1994.

He worked many jobs throughout his life, but his last job before retirement was making topographic maps for the Bureau of Reclamation in Sacramento, California. He retired in 2006 and moved with his wife and daughter to Boise, Idaho.

Mike gave his life to Jesus in the early 70's and looked forward to seeing Jesus face to face. His family will remember him for his faith in God and his determination to make people laugh or smile. He made friends wherever he went.

Mike is survived by his wife, Lisa, and daughter, Caitlyn. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Layton, George and Peter.

A celebration of life service will be held on Feb 20, 2026 at Capital Church, 2760 E Fairview Ave, Meridian, Idaho.
