Michael Owen Moore, age 79, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on August 13, 2025, with his beloved wife, René Ursino Moore, by his side. Born on April 3, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Margaret Mary Moore and Leonard Owen Moore and grew up in Overland Park, Kansas, along with six siblings.

From a young age, Mike was known for his sense of responsibility and kindness, serving as a safety patrol boy in sixth grade—a role reserved for students with outstanding grades. He attended Milburn Junior High, Shawnee Mission North, and Shawnee Mission West High Schools, where he was popular, made many friends, and was admired by his siblings as a great "big brother."

Mike's lifelong passion for mechanics began early. He taught himself to weld, and as a determined teen, he built his first minibike, then later a go-cart. It was common to see Mike speeding around the cul-de-sac with a big smile on his face. He studied how engines work and showed an aptitude for working on cars. He became a gifted auto mechanic, working for a local shop and eventually restoring a classic Alfa Romeo Giulietta.

His mechanical skills led him to serve in the Air Force at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois, where he maintained aircraft equipment. Later, he enjoyed a successful career designing and building machinery for industry and agriculture. He earned three patents in his personal endeavors and from his career in manufacturing.

A true outdoorsman, Mike loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He built a lakeside cabin in Warsaw, Missouri, which became his permanent home after retirement. He cherished nature and spent many weekends enjoying the outdoors and family gatherings with his grandchildren, where they would fish, ride ATVs, and watch the sunset over the lake.

Mike was a devoted father to twin daughters Angie and Kristen from his previous marriage to Linda Woodcock Moore, and a proud grandfather to five grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Rene' Moore, daughters Angela Linsky (Mike), Kristen Meek (John), grandchildren, Emma, Dylan, and Elaina Meek, and Abby and Ellie Linsky. He also leaves behind stepdaughter, Brittany Beatty, siblings, Pat (Mary Ann), Tom (Jill), Denny (Michele) Moore and Peggy Durban (Scott). He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Timothy and Nancy Moore.

Known for his sharp memory and storytelling, Mike delighted family and friends with tales of local history and family lore, always punctuated with humor and warmth, and always followed by a hearty chuckle. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life for family will be held at a later date, to be determined.
