Michael F. Moreni of Kintnersville, PA passed away on December 7, 2025 with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Catherine Capella Moreni for 62 years. Michael was the son of Anna Castagna Moreni Fenech and Frediano Moreni and brother to Peter Moreni, Fred Moreni and Anne Groves.
Mike is survived by his children: Denise Broskey (John), Michele Aguado (Charles), Michael P. Moreni (Katherine), Nicholas Moreni (Wyne); his grandchildren: John Broskey (Rebecca), Justin Broskey ( Fiancé Krystina), Jason Broskey, Marissa Aguado Matase (Christopher), Charles Aguado ( Fiancé JaCee), Samatha Aguado, Michael Avery Moreni (Brooke), Aria Moreni and Devon Maxey (Leslie); and three great-grandchildren: Harlow Broskey, Lily Matase and Michael Moreni.
Michael grew up originally in South Philadelphia, graduating from Bok Vocational Technical High School (Class of 1955). Mike was a member of both the Varsity Baseball and Football Teams and received Bok's highest Athletic Honors in both sports. Mike excelled at football as an Offensive Guard and a Linebacker on Defense often finding his efforts reported and pictures displayed in newspapers of the day.
Mike proudly served his country as a Communications Lineman in the United States Army in Germany during the Occupation of Germany, and during the Cold War Era and continued his service as an active Army Reservist during the Vietnam War Era with an honorable discharge in 1962. After the service, Michael was a Master Upholster with extraordinary talent. He eventually joined the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America and worked for 30 years as a proud Union Carpenter (Local 1050).
A deeply devoted Catholic, Mike was a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus and an unwaveringly faithful parishioner of Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Ottsville, PA. Michael cherished life and was a steadfast proponent of the unborn. Michael, along with his loving wife Catherine, belonged to the Society of Saint Gianna, often lecturing at hospitals and multiple parishes. During the aftermath of the devastating Hurricane Katrina, Michael and Catherine both traveled to Mississippi to support the reconstruction efforts.
Michael was also a loyal member of the American Legion and was often seen selling poppies for the veterans. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved sharing those hobbies with his sons and grandsons. His love of the outdoors was evident when he built his house in upstate Pennsylvania aptly named The Old Buck. He loved gardening and instilled that loved in his children and grandchildren.
Michael was a humble man of faith with many friends and a memorably heart-warming smile. He was deeply loved and is resting peacefully now in the arms of the angels.
Family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 11:00am followed by Mike's Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon at St. John the Baptist Church, 4050 Durham Rd, Ottsville PA 18942. Interment with military honors will immediately follow the Mass in a procession to St. John's Parish Cemetery.
