Michael Lee O'Donnell

Michael “Mike” Lee O’Donnell, passed away peacefully on April 3rd, 2026 in Estero, Florida surrounded by his family. He was 77 years old. Mike was born to Gerald and Lorene O’Donnell on August 4th, 1948 in Raytown, Missouri. He quickly excelled in basketball, and made his way to Denver, Colorado to attend Regis University where he received a scholarship to play the game he loved.

After college he moved to Sheboygan, Wisconsin to raise a family with his first wife Nancy. There in Sheboygan he made many life long friends and enjoyed returning there to play golf over the years. He then moved to Ohio and lived in both the Cleveland and Columbus areas. It was in Columbus where he met his wife of 28 years, Melinda. Together they moved to Estero, Florida in 2001 and lived their years together to the fullest. Mike worked many fulfilling careers and jobs over the years, and he greatly valued his last career and co-workers at the Bonita Bay Club up until December of this last year.

Mike is survived by his wife Melinda O’Donnell, his daughters Clancy (Jeff) Loschert, Meghan (Tim) Killen, daughter in law Vanessa O’Donnell, sister in law Connie O’Donnell, stepdaughters Missy (Scott) Garcher, Lissa Smith (Joe Shannon), Lanie (Jim) Kesselring, and stepson Sonny (Taylor) Smith, along with twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his son Kevin O’Donnell, his parents Gerald and Lorene O’Donnell, his brother Paul O’Donnell and his nephew Kyle O’Donnell. The family asks that you simply honor Mike with fond memories, prayers, and a celebration of a life well lived.
