Michael Charles Purcell Sr., age 60, passed away peacefully on January 31st, 2026. Born on March 9, 1965 in Fairfield, Connecticut to Elizabeth and Jerry Purcell, Michael was a lifelong Connecticut resident. In his legacy he is survived through his sons William, Michael Jr., Tyler and Luke; grandchildren Jenill, Adrianna and William Joseph; brothers Anthony and Steven, as well as many cherished friends and family.
Michael graduated high school from Rodger Ludlowe in 1983. He then went onto Voltrac Technologies where he held a management position for years. He then pursued his dream of being a business partner with Resources Water Conservation where he traveled the world and was involved in many water management projects that assisted in humanitarian aide. Later in life he then pursued his passion for botany and became a well known and respected groundskeeper for many high end clients.
Michael was best known for his spontaneity, high intelligence, hard work ethic, and his compassionate nature. Michael loved to travel, good food, music, the New York Jets, NASCAR, and especially his dog, Trevor. From the coastlines of Connecticut to the 5 burrows of New York City, you could be sure Mike was there along with his partner Trevor.
Family traditions were monumental to Michael and were never short of extraordinary; Fishing derby's, parades, football games, pool parties, camping trips and races were things Mike made annual fun for everyone. Truly a family man.
Although taken from us too soon, we will cherish all the wonderful memories he has created for us. Your memories will always bring a smile to our faces when we remember your jokes and sarcasm. You will forever be in our hearts. Our flowers will forever be planted with your undying love you've always given us.....
And with that : "I'm going to the cabana!"
All friends and family are welcome to honor Michael's life on Saturday, February 7 from 12-3 pm at the FAIRFIELD FUNERAL HOME OF EDMUND W. DOUGIELLO, 36 South Pine Creek Rd., Fairfield. Burial will be private.
Repass will be immediately following calling hours at Port 5 in Bridgeport, CT. All are welcome. We ask that you change into NASCAR, Band or sport shirts.
