Michael Robert Swainson, 72, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026. Born on October 30, 1953, in Elgin, Illinois, Michael lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Michael pursued his education at the Devry Institute of Technology in Lombard, Illinois, where he earned an Associate of Applied Science in Electronics in February 1988. His dedication to his studies reflected his commitment to personal growth and professional achievement.

Michael was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Becky and a proud father to his son Kelly and daughter Michelle. He welcomed Katy into the family as a cherished daughter-in-law. His grandchildren—Ada, Asher, Mason, Micah, and Skylar—brought immense joy to his life. Michael also shared a close bond with his brother Russ and treasured the relationships he had with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was predeceased by his parents, Ethel Rae and George Arthur.

Known for his wit and humor, Michael had an extraordinary ability to bring laughter to those around him. He was a thoughtful and caring man who deeply valued time spent with loved ones. Whether relaxing in the backyard with family and the dogs or enjoying hobbies such as golf, boating, swimming, or watching movies, Michael found joy in life's simple pleasures.
