Michael Swisher

Michael Craig "Mike" Swisher, 64, passed away on November 2, 2025, in Anchorage, Alaska.

Mike was born on September 7, 1961, in Harvey, Illinois, to William E. Swisher and Bonnie K. Gorrell.

Mike brought a unique light into the world from the very beginning. He was born with an intellectual disability and needed assistance with a lot of everyday living activities. Although he had limitations, he was a truly remarkable individual who was loved by all those lucky enough to know him.

Mike is survived by his stepfather Steve Gorrell; stepmother Joan Swisher; sister Kristin Alvarez and her husband Tom; stepbrothers Joe Swisher, and Eric Gorrell and his wife Denise; nephew Rick Lemieux and his wife Lisa-Ray; Caregiver Vince Goodsell and housemate Monica; as well as many other family members who held him dear.

He was preceded in death by his father William E. Swisher and mother Bonnie K. Gorrell.
