Michael Franklin Thomas

There are no words big enough to express the pain of losing our Michael Franklin Thomas. He passed away on March 28th, 2026 at the age of 67. He will forever be remembered for his big contagious laugh, humor, passion and outspoken manners. Always making a joke and always the first to step up when anyone needed anything. He could absolutely light up a room with his charismatic personality. He was real, genuine and authentically himself at all times. You may not remember what he said or did, but you would definitely remember how he made you feel. Mike never met a stranger. He was also the very best general contractor we ever knew and called his company Maiko Construction. There was nothing he could not build or fix and he was always there when we needed him.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in California's Central Coast. He graduated from Arroyo Grande High School in 1976 and began working full time in construction. He later moved to Oakhurst and eventually built his own beautiful custom home in Ahwahnee. In 2020 he moved out of the mountains and to a 5 acre ranch in Clovis. Most recently he was spending his time managing two RV parks for his father and every spare moment building a horse barn for his daughter, Santana. He was so excited for our first foal to be born this April.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Thomas, and his younger brother, Mark Thomas. He leaves behind his father, Alan Thomas, his step mother Marqueta Thomas, sister DeeDee Thomas, partner Danyelle Conner, daughter Santana Thomas and extended family Cody and Shaney Bennett, Cole Bennett, Nick and Savannah Celli along with all the animals he loved so much. Horses, cats and his best furry friend and travel partner, Tito.
