Michael Dwayne Wyant, 62, of Pembroke Pines Florida, passed away unexpectedly on March 2, 2026. He was born on February 21, 1964, in Roaring Springs Pennsylvania, to Kathleen and Merle Wyant.
While in his younger years Michael’s family moved around a lot due to his father working for the government, therefore he attended a few different schools. Michael went on to attend Miramar High School and met his wife, Tammy Fiola, in their neighborhood when they were just 14 years old. They later married in 1984 when they were both 19 years old. In 1998 they had their first daughter, Taylor, followed by their second daughter, Megan, in 2002.
Michael grew up playing guitar, fishing and was always tinkering on something with wheels. People closest to him knew he never truly grew up. In his younger years he raced quads and dirt bikes at Dania Air Motocross Park where he won several awards. If it involved building, fixing, or making something go faster he was all in. In his older years Michael bought his very first Harley and it quickly became his pride and joy. He enjoyed sharing that passion with close friends and family who would join him for rides.
Michael was his family’s very own rock star. He was a dedicated rock and roll enthusiast and was a diehard KISS fan. If you spent any time in the Wyant household you had the privilege of hearing his talent first hand. His passion for speed and racing was seen in his love of Nascar. Dale Earnhardt was his hero in the Nascar world and Michael acquired a collection of racing memorabilia over the years. He was a big enough fan to name his first daughter after Dale Earnhardt’s granddaughter. If there was a race on TV it was guaranteed the Wyants were watching it. Trains were another one of his passions. He enjoyed building and operating model trains. When he would go to visit his oldest daughter in Redfield, Arkansas he would sit and watch the Union Pacific freight trains as they went through town.
If you got to see Michael around his daughters growing up you knew of all the titles he held, “Dad” may have been his favorite. Michael was just a big child himself, he loved playing and goofing around with his girls. He attended many soccer games, school activities and horseback riding events over the years.
The majority of Michael’s professional life was dedicated to serving his community through various roles. He had earned numerous credentials and certifications all requiring rigorous training over the years. In the early stages of his work history he had his own Peterbilt semi truck and was an owner/operator driver for several years. He then went on to work for the Florida Forest Service as an ASE certified equipment mechanic. He found his calling when he joined the South Florida Water Management District where he had the opportunity to become a crane operator for a little over a decade and was looking forward to retirement.
To know Michael was to know a spontaneous jam session, a good laugh and the occasional bad idea that led to great memories.
He was preceded in death by his father, Merle “Sonny” Wyant
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Wyant; as well as his two daughters, Megan Wyant and Taylor Lattin and her husband Dakota Lattin.
