Michael P. Zimny, 67, of Glenwood, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026.
Mike is survived by his devoted wife, Pam, and his loving children, Rochelle Walters and Sarah Zimny (Tom). He was proudly known as Papa to his plethora of grandchildren: Gage (Cynthia), Maicha, Vivianna, Xavier, Dominik, Louie, Vinnie, Benjamin, and Izabella, and great-grandfather to Lysset, Crystal, Hailey, and Jasmine, with another great-grandchild on the way. His family was his world, and he carried each of them in his heart.
Mike spent many years serving his community as a mail carrier in Chicago Heights before transitioning to a dedicated career as a tow truck driver. Hardworking and dependable, he was the kind of man who showed up when he was needed.
Outside of work, Mike cherished the simple joys of life. He and Pam loved listening to live music and spending as much time as possible with their grandchildren. Whether it was going out to dinner, cheering them on at sporting events, or simply being present in their everyday moments, Mike was endlessly proud of his family. Among all those he loved, his youngest grandchild, Izabella, held a particularly special place in his heart. Their unbreakable bond will remain forever; she will always be Papa’s girl.
In accordance with Mike’s wishes, there will be no service, and he will be cremated.
He is preceded in death by his parents Michael (1996) and Barbara Zimny (2002).
Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew him, loved him, and shared in the warmth he brought into the world.
