Michel Lin Grimes

Mike Grimes, born April 30, 1955, in Nederland, Texas, passed away on March 27, 2026. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was the eldest of four children born to Jane and Jimmie Grimes.

Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose greatest joy in life was his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Grimes; his mother-in-law, Billie Crockett; his sons, Bryce Grimes and Zeke Grimes (Dr. Lacy Benoit); and his daughters, Katy Bass (Pastor Dave Bass) and Megan Grimes. He is also survived by his brothers, Kelly, Patrick, and Casey Grimes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jane and Jimmie Grimes, and his daughter, Betsy Cunningham Metcalf.

Mike is further survived by his grandchildren: Chloe Brock; Bethany LaMie (Pastor Oliver LaMie); Nathan Metcalf; Rowan Rodriguez; Lily Rodriguez; Zane Mallett; Anna Bass; Jonah Bass and by his great-grandchild, Marlin LaMie.

Mike had a deep love for music, second only to the love he had for his family. He was an avid golfer who spent many enjoyable hours at Henry Homberg Golf Course in Beaumont. He also loved traveling and created lasting memories on trips with his children and grandchildren. In his quieter moments, Mike found joy in gardening and caring for his beloved pets, including his four cats and ten Pomeranian dogs.

Mike will be remembered for his warmth, his dedication to family, and the joy he brought to those around him. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched.
