Our beloved Michele "Mikki" Condon passed away peacefully after a short illness on the morning of March 12, 2026. Michele Jane Rose Condon was born into a lively Irish Catholic family in Omaha, NE on April 12, 1944, to Richard B. Condon and Nadine Wrabetz Condon. She grew up and lived in Louisville, Ky until 2010 when she relocated to Phoenix (Ahwatukee). Her sisters Judith C. Dostal (Lana Robbins) and Mary (Mimi) Nadine Condon (Mark Parsons) survive her, along with generations of nieces and nephews, including Greg Donaldson, Maureen Fell, Mike Wade, Amy Wade, Danielle Dostal (goddaughter), Matt Dostal, Erin Bates and Richard (Chip) B. Condon III. She is sadly predeceased by siblings Linda Donaldson, Kathleen Wade and Richard B Condon Jr.
Michele was an accomplished and inspiring individual with many civic awards and achievements. Her crowning glory was being a 1996 Olympic Torch bearer in Louisville, Kentucky, in recognition of her civic engagements. In 1989, she also won Louisville's prestigious Bell Award for volunteerism, complete with speech and locally televised ceremony. She was also recognized by the Ronald McDonald House, the Cerebral Palsy School, Norton's Children's Hospital and Meals on Wheels. When not volunteering, Michele also enjoyed working at Beargrass Christian Daycare, Chik-Fil-A Bashford Manor, The Mall of St. Mathews and Linak US, a Danish tech company.
Michele's good humor and pithy comments captivated everyone she met. Determinedly independent, Michele led a full life right up to the end. She was a member of both the Pecos Senior Center and YOPAS Seniors, both in Phoenix (Ahwatukee), Az. She was active in bingo, dominos, the theater, lunch bunches, luncheons and day trips. She had encyclopedic knowledge of westerns, movies and TV, was a lifelong Trekkie (live long and prosper) and loved children and dogs. Michele hated sitting around and liked being on the go. An exuberant, outgoing personality, Mikki radiated joy and kindness, shining her beautiful light on all who met her. An Irish girl to the end, she was a soul whose open-hearted love brightened the lives of others. She will be dearly missed by generations of family, friends and colleagues.
