Michelle Dion Mize (née Jarosz), age 57, passed away on January 27, 2026, in Phoenix, Arizona. Born on April 18, 1968, in Cleveland, Ohio, Michelle brought warmth and light to those around her from the very beginning.
Michelle had an extraordinary heart and spirit. She loved deeply and without bounds, and those fortunate enough to be loved by her felt it in countless ways. Her compassion was instinctive. She seemed to sense what others were carrying and responded with empathy and kindness. Whether she was opening her home as a gracious hostess, rescuing a stray animal, or stopping to help someone in need, Michelle gave of herself freely and generously.
She was unforgettable. Stubborn, smart, witty, sarcastic, mischievous, gregarious and fun-loving, she had a magnetic presence that drew people in and made life brighter for everyone around her. She loved music, especially the songs of the Beatles and the Eagles, which were always close to her heart and often filled her home.
Though her life was not without challenges, Michelle was resilient and never let adversity dull her spirit. She was rarely idle and had a work ethic that many admired.
Michelle’s legacy lives on through those who loved her most: her son Jared and daughter-in-law Nicole; her cherished grand-children Vivienne and Jethro; her partner Steve; her siblings Frank, David, and Lavonne; her sisters-in-law Nora and Donna; her nieces and nephews Vanessa, Melissa, Jacob, Cassandra, Taylor, Lindsey, and Jack; and her great-nephews Jude, Jean Luc, and Jameson. She now joins her grand-parents Florian Sr. and Josie, and Audrey, along with her father Florian Jr., her mother Susan, and her son Joshua, in rest.
In honor of Michelle’s lifelong compassion for animals, donations may be made in her memory to HALO Animal Rescue at halorescue.org.
