Michael "Mike" Milton McClure, age 78, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, in Edgewood, Texas at his home. Born on March 13, 1947, in Brownwood, Texas, Mike lived a life marked by dedication to his family, service to his country, and a passion for helping others.

Mike graduated from Terrell High School in 1966 and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969. Following his military service, he worked several other jobs before he began his career as Maintenance Director at TVCC Terrell, where he worked diligently for 23 years until he retired in 2010.

On October 4, 2008, Mike married Debbie Wilhite, and they made their home in Edgewood.

A man of many interests, Mike enjoyed working on motorcycles, computers and scanner radios, tending to his yard, listening to music, and indulging in well-deserved naps. His hobbies reflected his curious mind and love for simple pleasures. Above all else, Mike cherished time spent with friends and family. He was known in his community for his kind and loving heart and an upbeat spirit that remained unshaken even as dementia took its toll in his later years.

Mike is survived by his devoted wife, Debbie McClure; his daughters, Kayla Watson and her husband Matt; Crystal Leighton and her husband Russell; his stepson Jared Briggs and his wife Anna; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Clay McClure and Susie Marguerite McClure; his brother Horace Edward McClure; his mother-in-law Reita Wilhite; father-in-law Kenneth Wilhite; and brother-in-law Donald Wilhite.

A man of Christian faith, Mike found strength in his beliefs throughout his life. His legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire those who knew him.

May the memory of Mike bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.

A memorial in his honor will take place Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Rainey's Chapel Baptist Church in Wills Point, Texas from 1:00-2:00 PM with Bro. Mike Burns officiating.
