SKOWHEGAN- It is with heavy heart we announce our mom, grammy, mimi, Mildred Carrow grew her angel wings on February 1st 2026 with her family by her side.
Born on July 24th 1935 to Willis P Harvey Jr and Viola (Hall) Harvey in Holden Maine. Where she graced the world with her contagious smile and laughter. Mildred spent some time gaining her education from Holden school system; she later graduated from Brewer high school in 1954. GO BREWER WITCHES!!!!! She went on to marry the love of her life Harry L Carrow in 1956 they planted their roots in the little town of Carmel Maine. She started her career at AJ Tucker shoe factory where she worked for many years until she went to Spot Built where she retired on December 31,2001.
Mildred had a tremendous love for animals , there was never a time or day she was not loving her animals or ones she would see on her walks. Mildred enjoyed baking; she always had baked goods sitting on her kitchen table along with bringing family containers filled with their favorites. Some of the family favorites are "truck tire donuts", apple turnovers, banana bread and no bake cookies. She would spend a lot of her free time knitting, crocheting and putting puzzles together. Mildred passed down the love of stuffed animals to her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Mildred is survived by her brother Robert Harvey from Holden, daughter Juanita Prescott husband Gary Prescott of Newburg, son Jody Carrow wife Juanita Carrow of Dixmont, Daughter Roxann Hawes husband Leigh Hawes of Skowhegan. Grandchildren Corey Sprague of Dixmont, Billie Jo Ramsdell of Hartland ,Michelle Quimby (Shelly Lee) of Carmel, Todd Ramsdell of New Hampshire,Amy Peterson Husband Dale Peterson of Dixmont,Tanya Moore (Short Stop) Husband Tim Moore of Dixmont, Jamie Ramsdell of Hartland, Gary Prescott (little gary) partner Christina of Carmel, Ashley Bautista husband Simon Bautista of North Carolina, Denise Sprague (neicey poo) of Madison partner Daniel Lenane (Danny) Of Massachusetts, Rachel Otis (rachel monkey) husband Trevor Otis (trev) of Cornville and Jaelynn Ramsdell of Dixmont. Along with many Nieces and Nephews.
Mildred had many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren that she loved dearly, she left this earth holding on to a special bond with her great granddaughters Samantha Zimmerman (Sam), Destiny Quimby (Desi), Haillie Jo Ramsdell of Hartland, Baylee Berrier of Oakland and Corey Lee (little Corey). Great grandsons Tyler Dean partner Saige of Bangor ,Dylan Carrow (Dilly Chip), Dustyn Carrow (dusta bunny), Bradley Dean of Dixmont, Dakota Carrow-Quimby (Kota or not sure if you're north or south) and Alex Bartlett and Linus Foss of Hartland. Mildred spent her last days building a tight bond that was cut to short with her great granddaughters Aydrianna Labire (Anna) and Bailey Otis (the baby) along with her great grandsons Colton Reeves (colty) and Erik labrie (the little guy).
Mildred is pre-deceased by the love of her life Harry Carrow, granddaughter Debbie Sue Carrow, her mother and father Willis and Viola. Her sister Francena Jipson, Brother Freedom Harvey and her adopted son AJ Cluckey and wife Hannah Clukey.
The family wants to send a special thank you to Heather Micue for the amazing care she gave our mom, gram and mimi. You were the highlight of her days, she enjoyed playing cards and talking and laughing with you. Your time and patience didn't go unnoticed.
The family would also like to thank Beacon Hospice Rn Kati Walker, Lori and Kristin and CNA Kaitlin Nadeau for their amazing care. Chaplin Eric Lovejoy for honoring Mildred with the lord and Blair Doucette the social worker for supporting the family in this difficult time.
There will be a celebration of life for Mildred on February 28th and a graveside service in the spring.
