Mildred Josephine "Millie" Powell passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, in Humble, Texas, at the age of 97. Born on November 8, 1928, in Hope, Arkansas, Millie lived a long and meaningful life devoted to faith, family, and community.
A dedicated Baptist and active member of her church, Millie found joy in serving others through her involvement in church activities. She was especially known for her love of decorating for events, bringing warmth and beauty to every gathering she touched. Her creativity and commitment helped foster a spirit of fellowship that enriched the lives of many. An avid sports fan she kept up with baseball, basketball, and football and cheered on favorites in each.
Millie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edwin Irl Powell. Together they shared a life grounded in love and shared values.
She is survived by two daughters: Melisa Nichols and her husband Todd, along with their sons Tanner and Austin; and Renay Berryhill and her husband John, along with daughter Brittany Hunt and her husband Nelson, and their children Eli, Josie, and Trevor. Millie's legacy lives on through them—a testament to the strong family she nurtured.
In accordance with her wishes, a private graveside service for family will be held in her hometown of Hope, Arkansas.
