Miriam LeBoutillier Epps
November 30, 1928 - March 20, 2026
Miriam LeB. Epps passed away on March 20, 2026. She was the second of six children born to Henry Woods LeBoutillier and Dorothy Whetstone LeBoutillier, both of Wayne, PA. She attended Radnor Schools and graduated from Radnor High School in 1946, earning the coveted Honor "R" Award
given to multi-sport scholar-athletes. After graduation, she attended Taylor Business School where she perfected her incredible typing skills and developed the business acumen that served her well in her professional life. In 1947, she married Tencley Dolphus "Ted" Epps. They became the proud parents of
Donna and Alan. Miriam was born into the Quaker faith, and as their family grew, she and Ted became active congregants of Central Baptist Church in Wayne, PA.
She began her career at C.N. Agnew Real Estate in Wayne, advancing to office manager. She later joined the firm of Andrews & Pinkstone and attained her Real Estate Broker's License. This began a successful career that culminated in the opening of Alpha One Real Estate in Paoli, PA.
In retirement, Miriam and Ted set out to see the world, and their travels took them throughout North America, Europe and Asia. She never fully retired as she continued to participate in the family business, Epps Plumbing & Heating, well into her nineties! Not only a savvy business woman, Miriam was proficient in sewing and design. She was an exemplary hostess and loved celebrating holidays, special events and Sunday dinners with the family. She was ahead of her time and embraced organic living. She served as a Girl Scout leader and
undertook countless volunteer activities. She was an avid reader of non-fiction historical novels. She swam every morning. She loved to play cards and dance with Ted at SunnyBrook Ballroom. For her, the only positive to be found with the end of the Phillies season was that she could focus her attention on the Eagles.
She was ever present at her children and grandchildren's activities, sports, celebrations and events. She never missed a family function and she will be keenly missed. She was a lady of
sophistication and grace. She had an uncompromising work ethic and moral code. Miriam loved her family to her core and never stopped supporting them in every way imaginable.
Miriam was predeceased by her husband, T.D. Epps, sisters Dorothy LeB. Stewart (Tom) and Edith LeB. Farr (Frank) and brother Roberts (Bo) LeBoutillier (Linda). Miriam is survived by her daughter, Donna Raymond, her son, Alan Epps (Ellen), grandsons Matthew Epps, Shaun (Meghan) Epps
and Gregory (Karen) Epps, seven great-grandchildren, sisters Sue LeB. Norcini (Gus), Henrietta LeB. Palacio (Larry) and countless nieces and nephews.
