Mitchell Bryant

1950 - 2025

Mitchell (Mickey) Bryant, age 74,
passed away peacefully at home
on November 8, 2025. He was born
December 18, 1950 to Elizabeth
Mackey and Lurton Bryant in
Clarksville, TN. He attended
Clarksville High School. He worked
at Frosty Morn Meats for ten
years, then in Maintenance at
Austin Peay State University for
the next eighteen years, first as a
painter, then as the supervisor
over the paint crew. He also owned
and managed several rental homes.

Adults were often put off by
Mickey's unsmiling face, but children
never were. They sensed that he was
friendly, and that they would be safe
in his company. Mickey was a quiet
observer of people. He often noticed
when someone was sad, lonely, or in
need of help. He often unobtrusively
reached out to give aid or comfort.
His wife-to-be was strongly drawn to
him the night they met. Indeed, they
married two years later, reaching their
fifty-third anniversary in October 2025.

Mickey had friends in his Hardee's
breakfast group, at the Senior Citizens
Center where he enjoyed shooting
pool, and at Hilldale Church of Christ,
where he was a member for fifty years.
He also enjoyed taking karate classes
as a young man, earning black belts in
both Shotokan and Taekwondo
disciplines. He could both dance and
race on roller skates. He had fun fishing,
and camping with his family was a
favorite activity.

Mickey was preceded in death by his
parents, a sister, Janice, and a brother,
Tony. He is survived by his wife Virginia
Tucker Bryant (Ginny), his children Tracey
Bearns, Wendy Foster, and Mark Bryant,
grandchildren Adam Bearns and Rachael
(Dallas) Crader, great-grandchildren
Lynnlee Renae Crader and Bennett
Wayne Crader, brother Jerry, sisters
Kathy Walton and Betty Miller.

Visitation will be held at Hilldale Church
of Christ, 501 TN-76, Clarksville, TN
37043 on Saturday, November 22, 2025,
from 9-11am, followed by the memorial
service at 11am.
