Mona L. Williamson

Mona Lisa Williamson, aged 63, departed this life February 17, 2026, in Hobart, IN. Affectionately known as "Nene" Mona Lisa was born October 12, 1963, to Minnie Young and J.C. Williamson, Sr. Mona Lisa alongside her parents were members of the First Baptist Church in Gary, IN.
Mona was the youngest of nine children. Mona Lisa did not have a life of ease, but she had a life filled with love, care, and a contagious laugh. Mona loved singing and playing with three generations of nieces and nephews; but Mona especially loved to dance. There was no age nor person Mona turned down for a dance. Mona spent nearly the last 20 years being cared for by her niece Lashon Sain. Through travel, dancing, songs, and get-togethers they have made unforgettable memories. Mona Lisa will be deeply missed by her family.
Mona Lisa was preceded in death by her parents Minnie and J.C. Willamson, Sr., her sister Mary Christine Goodwan, her brothers Walter Young, Samuel Williamson, Steve Young and Michael Young, her nieces Tasha Goodwan and Nicaela Goodwan, her great nephew Darren Goodwan, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Mona is survived by her sister Linda Young of Pine Bluff, AR, and her brothers Larry Williamson Gary, IN, Ronald Williamson, Sr., and J.C. Williamson, Jr., of Madison, WI. Her aunts Mary Helen Yeggins of St. Louis, MO and Shirleen Taylor of Gary, IN. Mona also leaves behind a tribe of nieces, nephews, Mona had a special bond with her eldest great nephew Zalassio Sain, numerous great nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews; many of whom have found memories with their "Auntie NeNe".
