Morry Rotstein
Morry Rotstein, 88, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, in Napa, California. He was born in 1936 in Pennsylvania.
From 1954 to 1956, Morry served in the United States Army as a Military Police officer, stationed at various bases across the United States, Japan, and Korea. After his military service, he embraced his adventurous spirit, moving frequently and living in cities such as New York City and Washington, D.C. A pivotal chapter in Morry’s life began with a road trip to Mexico City in his used blue Nash car. What was planned as a two-week visit turned into a two-year stay after he met Hilda, who would become his wife and the mother of his two daughters. They married in Mexico City and returned to the United States in 1959.
A lifelong learner and avid reader, Morry had a deep interest in geography, history, and current events. He enjoyed games of all kinds and was especially skilled at chess. Music and movies were also among his favorite pastimes. A favorite place to vacation was Las Vegas, where he and Hilda made many memorable trips enjoying time with Morry's brothers, and other family members.
He is survived by his beloved wife Hilda; daughters Cynthia and Jeanette; and grandchildren Jason, Nicole, Marissa, and Ethan. He was predeceased by his brothers Garry and Paul. A memorial service was held on May 28, 2025. Morry’s ashes were spread at sea in the San Francisco Bay near the Golden Gate Bridge.
