Muriel Jean (Fagan) Gyde passed away on January 6, 2026, at her home in Southfield, MI.
Born on January 9, 1936, in Detroit, MI, to Raymond and Margaret (Barlow) Fagan.
On May 29, 1954, she married George Gyde of Salem Township, MI, and together they had five children: George (Tina) Gyde of Pinckney, MI; Raymond (Lynette) Gyde of Maybee, MI; Michael (Earnette) Gyde of Maybee, MI; Ricky (Kathleen) Gyde of New Haven, MI, and the late Dawn Harrison of Southfield, MI.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, her four sons and son-in-law Frank Harrison of San Antonio, TX; her sister Patsy Johnson of East Parsonsfield, ME; 9 grandchildren; Bradley Gyde, April (Barry) Tarpey, Brian Gyde, Richard Gyde, Tiffany (Justin) Dobel, Michael (Kristin) Gyde Jr., Kristofer Gyde, Suzanne (Brian) Hall, Ricky Gyde Jr.; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter and multiple cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her brother Raymond Fagan Jr. and sister Phyllis (Fagan) Deichert; her daughter Dawn (Gyde) Harrison and granddaughter Catherine (Gyde) Despres.
Her passions were: attending church at Plymouth United Methodist Church and singing in the choir, directing the youth choir and playing and traveling with the handbell group. She enjoyed vacationing in Florida during the winter and traveling around the Caribbean with her husband.
Her greatest pleasure was visiting and spending time with her family and friends, rather it was sitting on the front porch or around a campfire while enjoying a good cup of coffee.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
