Myrlette Giddings

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Myrlette Jean Giddings, age 83, who went home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2026, peacefully at her home in Ramsey, Minnesota. She shared a beautiful 64-year marriage with her devoted husband, Richard—a love story that was the foundation of our family.



Myrlette was born on October 16, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, to Herbert and Myrtle (Pritchard) Gunther. At the age of three, she moved with her family to Coon Rapids, where she grew up and later graduated from Anoka High School.



On January 6, 1962, she married the love of her life, Richard Giddings. Together they built a beautiful family, including three children, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, with two more blessings on the way.



Myrlette found joy in life's simple moments. She was a devoted Minnesota Twins fan and loved traveling, gardening, birdwatching, and caring for her flowers. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family and her beloved dog, Maxi.



A woman of deep and unwavering faith, Myrlette was a charter member of Cross of Hope Lutheran Church in Ramsey. She faithfully served her church community in many ways over the years and especially loved volunteering for Bible school. Her kindness, generosity, and servant's heart touched so many lives.



She worked hard throughout her life in many roles, from helping at her parents' hotel and working at Chicken Little Drive-In as a teen, to positions at Marsh and McLennan Insurance, Mercy Hospital, an Anoka law office, Ramsey Elementary School, Independent Millwork, and Andersen Windows.



She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Myrtle Gunther, and her nephew Paul Gunther.



Myrlette is survived by her loving husband, Richard; her brother Bill (Cindy); her children Charles (Lisa), Timothy (Rebecca), and Cynthia (Jim); her grandchildren Allison (Tyler), Brenna (Matt), Spencer, Cassandra, Ashley (Carson), and Beau (Kallie); and her great-grandchildren Theodore, Colt, Baylor, Isabelle, Aspen, Madeline.



A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 10th at Cross of Hope Lutheran Church, 5730 179th Lane NW, Ramsey, MN. 763-753-2057 Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the service at 11:00 AM, with lunch to follow. Memorials in honor of Myrlette may be given to Cross of Hope Lutheran Church.
